NEMO® barrel emptying systems are versatile and suction themselves towards the bottom of the barrel. With NETZSCH emptying systems, you can empty your barrels and containers in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries almost residue-free.

The heart of the system is a NEMO® BY progressing cavity pump, which provides you with constant, low-pulsation pumping. The versatility is wide-ranging: From low-viscosity to barely flowing media, with or without solids content, shear-sensitive, sticky or abrasive, with the progressing cavity pump, you can pump even complex media gently and independently of pressure and viscosity fluctuations. Optionally, the pump can also be heated. This enables you to pump products that tend to harden or require temperature control. When the system is switched on, a vacuum forms under the follower plate. At the same time, this exerts a slight pre-pressure on the product to maintain constant suction. This ensures emptying with a residual quantity of less than one percent of the total content. In this way, you save product and, consequently, money. Another advantage of the NEMO® barrel emptying systems is the possibility of changing the barrel without the system coming to a standstill. This helps you to avoid high downtimes and costs.

NEMO® BY Progressing Cavity Pump

1 Rotor
Available in two geometries and with polished surfaces.

2 Stator with reduced wall thickness
Stator inlet with hopper-shaped opening to improve product entry into the conveying chamber. For varying temperatures, a patented stator with reduced elastomer wall thickness is used. In addition, a thermal stator protector (STP-2 or STP-D) protects against overheating and dry running.

3 Hygienic joints
Patented, open hygienic joints without dead space for optimal cleaning.

4 Drive train
Drive and connection shaft with coupling rod and two hygienic joints for power transmission from the drive to the rotor.

5 Seal housing
Food-safe shaft seals with pressure-resistant screwed shaft seal housing enable reversal of the direction of rotation up to the maximum pump pressure.

6 Suction and discharge housing
made of stainless steel (optional).

7 Block construction
The drive is flanged directly to the pump pedestal, resulting in compact dimensions, low total weight, constant shaft heights independent of the drive's design and size, low maintenance and high serviceability, as well as economy.
